The current fourth biggest-grossing film in IMAX is Top Gun: Maverick at about $718 million—however, The Super Marios Bros. Movie will top $830 million by the end of this weekend. The movie has already surpassed $748 million worldwide, passing Top Gun: Maverick. This makes the Super Mario Bros. Move the current fourth highest-grossing IMAX film worldwide, with the potential to climb even higher.

Not true as of this current moment.

According to The Numbers, right now the Super Mario Bros. Movie has about $692,000,000 in worldwide box office. (https://www.the-numbers.com/movie/Super-Mario-Bros-Movie-The-(2022)#tab=summary)

The Box Office Mojo does not have the Mario movie on their rankings due to how recent the film has been released, but if we use the number from above, we can see that it would rank in 6th place, passing Avengers: Infinity War. (https://www.boxofficemojo.com/genre/sg3705663745/)

As your article provided suggests, the Mario movie will continue to grow in box office sales, so it could eventually surpass into 4th place in the weeks to come.

As of right now, 4/20/2023 it has passed Top Gun: Maverick. That makes the movie in 4th place, rendering your claim true ! Mario movie has grossed about $724 million, while Top Gun: Maverick has $718 million. The same link that I provided in my response (the first one) has the updated gross for the mario movie.

This is true currently and will be updated across different sites and platforms that track box office grosses in the near future. Because this movie was just released, it's still increasing in sales globally, so those are still being tracked and added to the total amount. Currently on the Box Office Mojo list for highest grossing IMAX movies, Top Gun: Maverick ranks 4th highest at $718 million. However, when you search Super Mario Bros. Movie on the same site, it shows that global sales so far are at $739 million, which would place it 4th on the list, knocking down Top Gun. We can assume that because it's a new movie and still adding to its gross, the site just hasn't updated the list yet. It's possible it can even move up to 3rd. As of right now, it's gross sales would place it at 4th on the list, so the above claim is true.

So this is false, however, according to Forbes, "Globally, The Super Mario Bros. Movie surpassed Frozen II as the largest opening weekend for an animated film, grossing $377 million." Additionally, when looking at the Top 10 Domestic Animated Opening Weekends, the Super Mario Bros Movie was THIRD on the list, with $146,360,000. Regarding box offices, I looked into an article linked by Forbes under their article by Variety, which quoted Jim Orr, Universal's president of domestic distribution who states, "The box office just kept growing and growing. It’s a tremendous worldwide debut, and the movie has a clear runway.” From the sounds of it, although the movie doesn't seem to be the 4th biggest-grossing film in IMAX it is not impossible that it won't reach that statistic.
