The information provided by abc7 is corroborated by NBC Chicago. On Tuesday August 1st, 2023, two postal carriers were robbed at gunpoint, with one having been shot during the attempted robbery. The two incidents were about 15 minutes apart, and now a third robbery has also surfaced in suburban Berwyn a day later (on August 2nd). In the most recent incident, the person was not harmed but did have their bag stolen. There was a firearm present in every incident. There is no evidence as of yet that the incidents are related, but the US Postal Inspection Service is offering two separate $50,000 rewards for information regarding these three incidents.

It's true. I found an article by CWBChicago which includes video and photography from USPIS of the robber's getaway vehicle. The article also reports that USPIS is offering $50,000 for information that leads them to the suspects.

This is a really good fact check. Visual proof goes a long way to support statements like these.

I've never seen a fact-check before that supplies visual evidence, so great job on that and thinking outside the box! If you included more information from the article, I think your fact-check would've been even stronger, but really like the inclusion of visual information.

Yes, this is true. This occurred on Chicago's northwest side around 3 in the afternoon both happened within 15 minutes of each other and both at gunpoint. The first postal worker was shot in the leg and is now in stable condition the other was not physically harmed during the robbery. A $50K reward is offered for the two assailants and local detectives are still on the case.

This is true. According to 13 Action News, "the crimes happened on the same day, within 15 minutes of each other." The first mail carrier to get robbed was a 52-year-old carrier who has been working as a mail carrier for over 15 years. He was the mail carrier to get shot while the second mail carrier was only robbed. The mail carrier who got shot is in critical condition. Eye witnesses said that the perpetrator could be someone in a white Kia, after they saw them speeding down the road.

This is true. I found the surveillance video on Youtube that shows the actual robbery taking place. The video also witness testimonies who saw the shooting take place. At 1:35 the video states, "Police say the suspects are men and were scene driving a white Kia at both scenes."

This information is completely true and verifiable. ABC 7 Chicago even posted video evidence of the incident, and it can be viewed down below. As the article with the linked video states, "Two mail carriers were robbed at gunpoint within 15 minutes of each other in incidents investigators believe are connected. The first incident happened in the Kilbourn Park neighborhood's 3200 block of North Kildare Avenue just after 3:30 p.m. Two people, identified only as male, approached a 52-year-old man, who USPS said is a mail carrier, and tried to take his belongings. One of the offenders then opened fire on the mail carrier, striking him in the leg."
