On September 29th, 2023, Tennesse Kathleen N. Gomes signed an order to end Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy's conservatorship over Michael Oher. 

The Hollywood Reporter has listed an unofficial court document for the case. In article proves context to the situation along with current information. Despite the Hollywood Reporter's slight favor to the left, they continue to rate high on multiple sites for "factual reporting due to proper sourcing and a clean fact-check record". https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/hollywood-reporter/

Other news outlets that aren't specific to the entertainment industry like CNN, NPR, the Associated Press, ESPN, The Guardian, Rolling Stones, the NYT, and many other have reported on this topic and have stated the same claim.

I like how you used multiple sources to back up your claim. A source from a more credible source, free from any bias, would have made for an even stronger fact check. With that being said, I believe that this is a very credible fact check and you established more credibility by explaining some bias that one of your sources may have. You kept it short and informative, explaining why the original claim was true.

Your claim here is strong because you used multiple reliable sources like CNN and NPR.org. These sources alone make your fact check strong, but what could've made your answer better was adding an explanation and further explaining how the conservatorship over Michael Oher has ended. Other than that pretty solid fact checking.

In late September of 2023, a Tennessee judge signed an order to end the conservatorship over Michael Oher. His former conservators, Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, allegedly convinced Oher into agreeing to the conservatorship after turning 18, and they are said to have falsely represented themselves as his adopted family. Kathleen Gomes, the judge who ended the conservatorship, said that it was surprising it had lasted so long given the fact that Oher has no mental or physical disabilities (NPR).

NPR attributed their information to the Associated Press. However, the link that's included doesn't work.

This article does indeed backup the claim being made in the title. The article gives direct quotes from case judge, Kathleen Gomes. The article cites other credible sources including Associated Press, The Daily Mephian, and Martin Singer (Tuohy family attorney.) The author, Ayana Archie, has a multitude of other articles posted on npr. She is an award winning multi media journalist who graduated form College Park's Merril School of Journalism in 2020. The content of the article is recent, it was posted on September 29th, 2023. Many other media outlets are reporting on the same story, including CNN, The Guardian and Associated Press. The quotes used in the article are all from the credible sources listed above. Images singular image is of Micheal Oher himself. The article does not give any signs of bias.

This is true, Michael Oher's conservatorship has ended. According to NPR, in September 2023, Tennessee judge Kathleen Gomes signed to order to end the conservatorship between the Tuohy family and Michael. In August of 2023, Oher filed a petition asking for the conservatorship to be dissolved because he was "deceived" and was old enough to deal with his own financial affairs. The conservatorship started in 2004 when Oher was 18 years old (NBC News). Other sources such as The New York Times and The Guardian also support the notion that Oher's conservatorship has ended.
