This is both false and satirical. The source of this claim comes from a satirical article that states the Chiefs Organization has suffered more issues by keeping Travis Kelce both money and security-wise. This is completely false. According to https://www.spotrac.com/ (a website built to display professional athletes' contracts, contract history, and free agent pricing. According to this site and Google, Travis Kelce is currently on a 5-year contract that began in 2021, which means he is still under contract with the Chiefs for next season. His contract isn't negotiable until 2026.

When reading over the article, I have come to the conclusion that the information is both false as well as satirical. When looking at the article it came from a source called "The Dunning-Kruger-Times." When doing some research on the group, I was able to find that on their website they state "Dunning-Kruger-Times.com is a subsidiary of the "America's Last Line of Defense" network of parody, satire, and tomfoolery" (Dunning-Kruger-Times.com). Meaning that the content that they produce is just for comical purposes. When looking at the other articles produced by this creator it seems as though almost all of their work is satirical. 

To make sure that these claims were false, I wanted to check on Travis Kelce's contract. When doing this I used the website Spotrac, which breaks down contracts for players within all Major League Sports. According to Sportrac, Travis Kelce has two years left on his contract. So he wouldn't be able to retire until his contract is completed. According to CBS Sports, Kelce was also quoted saying "I'll see ya'll next year" after hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. This source of information gives more evidence as to why the information stated in the article is false. 

Overall, the information stated within the article is a form of satire. We know this based on the information stated within the Dunning-Kruger-Times website. When looking at Kelce's contract for next year as well as examining a direct quote said by Kelce, it seems as though Kelce will return with the Kansas City Chiefs for another year.

This is a false claim. This article came from DunningKrugerTimes.com. On their website they state clearly in the 'about us' sections that they are a "network of parody, satire, and tomfoolery." It is also stated on their website that everything on the website is fiction.

I did look more into this claim to make sure and I found additional information from Lead Stories which is fact checking website. They also state that this claim is false. There are no facts to back up this claim.

The Chiefs can not re-sign Kelce right now because he is not a free agent. Immediately when clicking on the link I do not trust the website. There are articles with claims that are extreme. When going to the 'about us' page it says point blank "Everything on this website is fiction." Therefor I know for a fact that this claim is not real.

I went to the Kansas City Chiefs website and there are no articles or information at all about Travis Kelce not being re-signed. There is a video of Kelce speaking to the public and there was no mention of this claim.
