This Fact Checks claim is that: Donald Trump said if he doesn't win the election it is going to be a “bloodbath for the country”

The source used for this claim is a video posted on “Kamila HQ” X account of Donald Trump making a speech in Dayton Ohio. In this video of his speech he is shown saying, “Now if i don't get elected, it's going to be a bloodbath for the whole, that's gonna be the least of it. It's going to be a bloodbath for the whole country, that'll be the least of it.” Now although slightly different wording in the claim. The video does prove Donald Trump said the content in this statement.

After further research of this topic and similar sources. This video was recorded of former President Donald J. Trump at one of his rallys in Dayton Ohio on March 16th, 2024. Many other reliable sources prove this claim to be true by also posting live footage of the former president stating these exact words. As well as analyzing and quoting his statement within their articles. I think it is also important to note the definition of bloodbath being an event or situation where a lot of people are killed in a violent manner. (Oxford).

Fact-checking the claim: "Donald Trump said if he doesn't win the election, it is going to be a "bloodbath for the country"".

After searching for more evidence of this event, I found a report from PBS News. The article went into more detail about when Donald Trump said this. Trump was campaigning for Senate candidate Bernie Moreno in Dayton, Ohio. The rally took place on a Saturday and was set up by Buckeye Values PAC, which is a group that was supporting Moreno. Trump used his time on the stage to share a speech that involved his thoughts on what would happen to the United States if Biden wins his second term. The news outlet described the speech as a "profanity-filled version of his usual rally speech." As well as "painting a picture of an apocalyptic picture of the country". The quote PBS News used for what Trump said was, "If I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country ". Trump then touched on the topics of increasing tariffs on foreign cars and the impacts of offshoring regarding cars. I trust the PBS News link that I found because it was listed as a fact-checking source on News Detective. Websites that have .org are typically from non-profit organizations, so they are more trustworthy because they are not receiving money, which reduces potential biases. I am helping to fact-check this claim because there were only Twitter links provided, which could be potentially manipulated, so having a reputable news source reporting on it strengthens the claim.
