This article explains concerns that sometimes chocolate can be fatal to dogs, and sometimes they aren't. It claims that the dose and the ingredients are what decided the fatality of it. Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine, which are the two ingredients that dogs struggle to digest. The dose is considered by dog size/weight. The bigger the dog, the more they're able to ingest before fatality occurs.

Yes, this information is correct, theobromine and caffeine can be very dangerous if ingested by dogs. "Increase in heart rate, blood pressure, agitation, tremors, and seizures." (VCA Hospitals). The chemicals in those compounds are too much for dogs to metabolize, which can lead to serious problems. The darker the chocalte tends to be more harmful to them. Regardless of how light it is, it can be lethal.
