"Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have gone their separate ways.

A source confirms to PEOPLE that the pair have ended their romantic relationship for now, about a year after they began dating.

"They are both young and career-focused, so they've decided to take a break," says the insider of Keoghan, 32, and Carpenter, 25.

Reps for both stars did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's requests for comment on Tuesday, Dec. 3."

You might want to add more sources than just People.com, which is a known outlet for celebrity gossip. By finding more sources on the issue, you can further solidify your argument.

Many credible sources within the music industry, such as People Magazine, Fox News, and Cosmopolitan, have written articles claiming that a "source" has confirmed Keoghan and Carpenter's breakup. Several sources, including this article, have indicated that Barry Keoghan's alleged infidelity with influencer Breckie Hill was a primary reason for the couple's breakup. This rumor appeared to gain momentum when Carpenter was photographed on December 5 in a Cruella de Vil outfit, which many referred to as a post-breakup "revenge dress".

However, neither Keoghan nor Carpenter (as of December 6th) has publicly confirmed their split yet. Thus, this piece of news remains a rumor.
