According to "10 Reasons Why You Should Choose UIUC", we are the best school because we have the greatest food town, our student involvement makes a big campus seem like home, we have the most diversity out of any top-ranked Midwest university, and the multitude of opportunities the university has to offer.

While this may be true for some, there is no guarantee that Illinois is the greatest school for everyone. In fact, some argue that school is not for everyone. According to kqed.org, "teens like her across the country are struggling to get through school, unaware that there are other options, believing that school is a shared but hated experience that everyone must get through until their real lives can start" (Schwartz). This is more of an opinion than a fact, saying that Illinois is the greatest school is subjective.

UIUC is a great school, but it does not make it the greatest of all time. This is more of a personal opinion than a question. Everyone looks for something different in college. Some want a big school while others prefer a smaller school. According to US News, UIUC is ranked 41st. Which is not bad, but that does not make it the greatest.

This feels more like a personal opinion, especially for those that do attend the school. It is easy to say that the school you attend is the best because of your own experiences but not everyone has the same experiences. There could be people that have had really bad experiences here and even end up transferring, so to them, it is not the greatest school.

Although, UIUC is ranked number 13 public university and number 41 national university it still is a pretty good ranking.

Yes, UIUC is a great school, but its hard to say its the greatest of all time because everyone has different opinions and not everyone goes to UIUC. Everyone has different ideas of what makes a school great, and looking on the UIUC website will give you the idea that UIUC is the best, but this isn't true if statistics are involved.

"Illinois is the greatest school of all time." is a statement that would be classified strictly as an opinion. While it may be believed that UIUC has the best food and community on campus, many other college students that are enrolled in other colleges may say the same exact thing about their own school. It is a belief and no statistic can override the fact that it is an opinion. UIUC could potentially be seen as a great school or ranked well, however; "the greatest school of all time" can be seen as an exaggeration due to bias.

First of all, it is a personal opinions thing and there are many perspective to define what is "The Greatest". However, when people are thinking about colleges, they usually connect "The Greatest" with academic aspect. According to US news, none of academic aspect of UIUC is the "Greatest" in US. We can say UIUC is a great school or top school, but we cannot say it is the greatest.

The word "Best" is really subjective, the best for some people may not be the best for others since different people consider different perspectives to be important. One simple example would be on U.S. News, UIUC is ranked 41 in national university but 51 on collegeevaluator.com.

So when we value different aspects, the results tend to be different.

Nice job finding two different sources that rank UIUC differently and demonstrate that the claim is opinion-based.

There is no concrete evidence to why Illinois would be the "greatest" school ever. Google results can name you numerous universities that can be considered the greatest school ever and everyone would have their own opinion. Those from Southern California may say UCLA is the greatest school ever, while those from the east credit Harvard as one of the greatest due to its greatness and prestige. The criteria to be the greatest school is different to everyone and there can be no "correct" answer. According to US News, Princeton University is the greatest national university in the country thanks to its prestige and exclusivity (US News). Everyone has their own opinion at the end of the day, and there is no right or wrong answers.

while there seem to be nice things about UIUC, this claim ca not be true false or misleading because it is an opinion. There are lots of articles claiming that certain schools are better based off of academics but those are still somewhat opinion based. for example I believe the university of Oregon is a better school than Oregon state university, but that is because of my own livid experience which has been turned into an opinion, not an actual fact.
