I'd recommend against using TikTok as a primary source because it is a prime media platform for mis/dis information as well as deep fakes and conspiracies. Upon further research, this claim is false.

There isn't much to say about the validity of this video. As it is just someone reacting to the content that Shein might be shutting down. However, I highly don't recommend anyone get their information from a place like Tik Tok and rather, go to the primary source and make your own conclusions.

Based on my research, I wasn’t able to find anywhere where Shein itself or another credible source validated this claim. Also this was posted on TikTok where there is a lot of mis/dis information. I also found an article explaining how Shein actually plans to take it to another step and go public in 2024.

This video appears to be extremely vague and presents a personal claim. It could even be interpreted as a joke. I agree with the other comments; TikTok should not be relied on as a primary source, as much of the information presented is not checked and often false. If such a claim were true, it would likely spark a huge online uproar and be covered by mainstream sources. However, while searching for other sources, I found no major organizations reporting on this. The search showed few results related to this claim. The sources I did find state that Shein will not be closing in 2024, and there has been no official confirmation from the company.

Absolutely, relying on TikTok as a primary source can lead to misinformation. It's crucial to verify claims from reputable sources before accepting them as true.

I think this is very well said. Tik tok is not a reliable source and I see all sorts of misinformation posted everyday and people believe it.

This is false. Using other media sources or outlets in the future can help better your knowledge on ideas like these. Tiktok and mostly all forms of social media are deceitful and clickbaity.

This claim is false. TikTok is one source you shouldn't go to in order to find out viable information. Before concluding a claim such as this, Google would be a good source to look at first.

you make a great point but if you had points to back it up that would be even better

Shein is not going anywhere. There were headlines about a hoax going on that involved Shein rumors of it shutting down. It is completley false. TikTok provides no information or sources. The company is going public this year according to Forbes. If this person had said there were rumors about Shein shutting down, it may be more relevant. Overall, this claim is false and has little to no information to support it.

From my investigation, it appears that there is a lack of information to verify the validity of this statement. Shein has not issued any statement confirming or supporting this allegation. Despite the controversies and accusations surrounding Shein, the company remains operational. Currently, this claim is only a rumor circulating.

I find this claim to be misleading as sources such as Urban Matter say that SHEIN is preparing for a significant event instead. This significant event could make people think they are shutting down, but this message came from SHEIN themselves which makes me think that they wouldn't want to report the termination of their own company. Strategic moves also indicate that the company is in good health for the future since they are willing to make risky moves.

Rumors began circulating online that SHEIN was shutting down. SHEIN is an online fast fashion clothing company. SHEIN has not officially commented on the rumors but did post a TikTok laughing at the rumors. Many of the sources I found have said SHEIN closing down is just a rumor and is not true. We can expect SHEIN to stay open at least for the foreseeable future. This rumor is misinformation. It is not clear why the information was spread.

This claim is false. The claim originated on TikTok and then spiraled out of control, but we have to remember that TikTok is not a credible source. Lots of clickbait sites and videos have perpetuated the claim. Many people have used sales going on as reasoning to belive they are going out of business but no one from Shien has confirmed.

Based on the search results provided, the claim that "Shein is shutting down in 2024" is inaccurate. A recent article from Playbite confirms that Shein is not closing in 2024. Additionally, Shein has been actively expanding and distancing itself from China, moving its headquarters to Singapore, setting up operations in Ireland and Indiana, and hiring Washington lobbyists to highlight its U.S. expansion plans. The company's growth and strategic moves suggest that it is not shutting down but rather focusing on international expansion.
