This is really informative! I agree and I believe that during gamedays in Eugene probably makes the economy do very well! While thinking about economics, I would argue that the microeconomics probably also do very well; using more resources that are less formal such as Snapchat or Instagram; though these apps arent good for true facts or anything of the such, theyre good for comparison of ticket pricing. I have seen people on the UO Snapchat stories selling tickets for much more.

The more people there are, the more profit is being made, resulting in a more profitable economy. On top of these football games, there have also been other sporting events on the U of O campus that heavily boosted the economy. The track field at U of O hosted the olympic trials, which generated over 2.2 million and had an extended impact of the economy in Eugene. Overall, this claim is true.

The Oregon vs Ohio State game had over 60,000 fans in attendance, according to Sports Illustrated, breaking the attendance record for any Ducks home football game. Generally it is true that sporting events will boost many aspects of local economy, especially with visitors having to take 3-5 hour plane flights to come. They often rent cars, hotel rooms, buy food locally at grocery stores and restaurants. This causes a great demand for local workers which further boosts the economy and cash flow in the area. This is backed up by Yardbarker, who claims that some of the lowest hotel prices were 230 and 255 dollars respectively, with some hotels costing even 899/per night. This is a significant increase as many hotel rooms can easily be found in the 120 dollar range when conducting a quick search on hotels.com. So while yes the Ohio State vs. Oregon game did boost the Eugene economy it was a temporary spike and influx of cash into the city and not anything necessarily consistent as the Ohio State fans left almost as soon as they came and with that, their wallets.
